Powder pink and floral embroidery

I just realised it has been almost three months since I updated my blog last time! I have been quite busy so far in 2017 and spring has gone unbelievably fast: it should be almost summer even here in Finland but I can`t even remember as cold May as this one is. Last week on one day we had more snow than at Christmas Eve lol!

While I waiting for summer to arrive I want to share is my most recent spring coordinate with you! ^__^

hair band: F.i.n.t / cardigan: Ank Rouge / skirt: one after another NICE CLAUP / bag: mon Lily / ballerina shoes: Clarks

I have been wearing this ruffle trimmed Ank Rouge cardigan I got a few weeks ago a lot lately and I liked it so much that I ended up getting it also in white. :’) I had been looking for an opportunity to wear my newish light pink ballerina shoes as well and since they match with the light pink Ank Rouge cardigan quite well I decided to build this outfit around these two items.
I usually wear only a few if any accessories which probably makes many of my outfits appear quite simple. Maybe putting more effort into accessories could be one of my “style missions” for this year? ; ) I tried to add some details into this look by wearing my mon Lily faux suede bag and the black ribbon hair band that is one of the newest additions into my hair accessory collection. Besides being easy to coordinate with almost any outfit this F.i.n.t hair band turned out to be really comfortable: I often get a headache even after 15 minutes of wearing a hair band so I was happy to be able to wear this one for hours!

I finally found a perfect warm red matte lipstick from NYX, happy-happy! The name of the shade is “Pure Red Rouge Pur”!

Items with embroidery details seem to be a huge trend this spring/summer and I remember seeing some items featuring embroidery already in atumn/winter collections. I actually like this trend but some of the embroidered clothes are slightly too bohemian style to fit into my personal style so at the moment this velvet skirt is the only embroidery piece I have.

The skirt a lucky sale found I bought during Christmas sales but I think it is very wearable even in spring/summer although the material is a little thicker. I was surprised how many compliments this skirt has gotten and the quality is really good too: the shade of the black is so deep that it makes some of my black tops look awkwardly grey haha. The floral details are nicely sewn and I really hope that they will last beautiful for a long time..! ♡hermysteriousbusiness_noora_3

It might not be obvious but this time I tried to curl the ends of my hair slightly: hair styling is another thing I hope to put more effort into this year hehe. I cut my hair chin length just before New Year and although I have always liked shorter hair styles this time I felt a bit unsure about the result.

There was nothing wrong with the cut and usually I get used to my new hair quickly but somehow this time I couldn`t feel as enthusiastic about my new look as usually. I started to wonder that maybe short hair simply doesn`t feel “my style” as much as it used to and now when my hair has grown into medium length I feel more like “myself” again. I guess it was nice to try shorter hair again and I actually looked forward to it but for now I think I will stick to medium length or long hair for a while hehe. ^__^

How is spring/summer looking for you so far? I hope you are all well! ♡

coat, choker & shoes: RoseMarie seoir / bag: vintage / fihnets: tutuanna

After getting my RoseMarie seoir Happy Bag I was excited about trying to make a coordinate with some of the items I received. I came up with a simple outfit for spring featuring the beige sailor style coat, the velvet choker and the pom pom heels – my favourite things from the Happy Bag. Unfortunately it is still way too cold for clothes like these so I probably have to wait till April before I can actually wear this type of outfits outdoors. :’)

To be realistic I doubt I´ll actually wear this coat together with the pom pom heels in real life since I feel the coat would look nicer paired up with some darker coloured shoes. Some other coloured clothes would probably flatter the heels better too!

I must admit that these pom pom heels are not the easiest to walk with, but then again I might be just clumsy hehe… The heels are super cute and I have been wanting shoes like them for a while but I have a feeling I might use them mostly for the outfit pictures and indoors to be practical. I am a little lazy with “difficult” shoes and besides I am often in a hurry: running while wearing these shoes isn´t probably the best idea heh!

My attempt to coordinate the coat with something somehow made me like it even more and now I feel I might have more use for it than I first thought. I look forward wearing it especially with classical marine/sailor themed colors such as red and navy blue! Hopefully I’ll manage to feature an outfit like that here on my blog too when spring comes. : )

Thanks for taking your time reading this blog post!

Ps. I wish I didn`t had to include the dark blue rug into the pictures and ruin the colour scheme, but the heels kind of disappeared into the floor without it… ^__^;

Red and velvet for the October girl

Hi there little foxes, I hope autumn is treating you well!

I am still trying to get used to cooler weather and learn to dress up warmly again: I think we can expect the first snow quite soon here in Finland, huh! Luckily I have managed to get a few new additions to my A/W wardrobe which has helped to make dressing up more a little more fun for me.

This look reflects some of my autumn inspirations pretty well and I was also highly influenced by Anna Karina’s look in the film “Une femme est une femme”. I still hope to properly re-create some of her looks from the film in future! Before that I want to do some preparations like find some blue eye shadow, hehe…

hair bow & skirt: Katie / turtle neck: Jouetie / shoes: Clarks / magazine: “murmur magazine for men”

Lately I am very much in love with big hairbows and I almost feel like they could become a part of my own “signature look” (to be honest I don`t think I have one quite yet hehe…). Many iconic actresses and models “in the old times” seemed to have some kind of signature style and browsing their pictures makes me think how big role for example their hairstyle played. When thinking about a certain iconic actress or model such as Marilyn Monroe or Twiggy you can immediately remember their signature hair!

I find this fascinating since these days it seems to be more common that celebritites keep changing their hair and style constantly: having the same look for longer periods could be even considered just boring!

My bangs would had needed a little combing I guess haha….

I have personally had bangs (or fringe) for about 10 years now although my hair colour and style otherwise has varied. Always when I consider growing my bangs out all I have to see is one cute girl with bangs and I already change my mind. I am just hopelessly in love with bangs I guess? ; )

Do you have a signature hairstyle? If not but you had to choose one, how would it be?

Larme inspired pink & black coordinate

About a month ago (time flies, huh?) I went to check out a local Japanese fashion themed fleamarket and this was the outfit I ended up wearing to the event! This was actually my second j-fashion themed event ever and the first one for a few years so I was a bit nervous haha…

skirt, bag and hair bow: Katie / strappy crop top: Missguided / sheer top: E hyphen world gallery BonBon / shoes: Clarks

I wanted to make this outfit more obviously Larme (magazine) inspired since the event was focused on Japanese fashion. I decided to build my outfit around my Katie garter skirt that I actually wore out for the first time on that day! I bought the skirt already around May from the summer sale but I had been kind of “saving it” since I had been a little paranoid about ruining it somehow (a bit silly, I know!) hehe… My look turned out to be kind of “Katie oriented” but maybe it is not so weird since many of my favourite accessories and clothes are by them.

My makeup for the event was kind of basic and quickly created: I was already a little late so I decided to keep it simple and just go with some black eyeliner, mascara and shimmery light pink eyeshadow. I also wore a little bit red blush on my cheeks and to my lips I added my favourite orange lipstick although I feel that pink or red could have been a better match for my outfit.

Ideally I would had also curled my hair a little to stay loyal to my Larme inspiration BUT since I am not very good at curling my hair I decided to save an hour or two and keep that also simple, hehe… :”)

outfit_larme_blog3

The event itself turned out to be a little smaller than I expected and was more focused on Lolita fashion I think, but I still had lots of fun! I was lucky enough to meet two of my online friends who share my love for the Larme magazine for the first time! Chatting with these two cuties really made my day and I was really happy I decided to go there. I love spending time at home probably a little too much (hehe) but this kind of experiences make me want to be more active and go to see events that interest me more often.

I also hope to get more active at posting my outfits here, let`s see how that goes! Taking outfit photos keeps feeling a little difficult to me but at the same time it would be fun to do small photoshoots etc. for my blog so I try to get better at that! These pictures were kindly taken and edited by my boyfriend Johannes (his instagram).

Thank you for readings this post..! ^__^
